Who is responsible
Reluctant Nomad is run by Mark Price. Questions about your personal information can be sent to admin@reluctantnomad.co.uk.
What is collected
If you join the passenger list, the site stores your email address, the date and time you joined, your consent record, and whether your subscription is active or unsubscribed.
If you leave a comment, the site stores the name and comment you provide, the post it relates to, its moderation status and the date it was submitted. An email address is not requested for comments.
Visitor analytics
The site counts page views by page and day and records the referring website’s domain, when one is supplied by your browser. These totals help show which writing people find useful. Analytics do not use cookies and do not store IP addresses, full referrer addresses, device fingerprints or individual browsing histories. A browser’s Do Not Track setting is respected.
Why it is used
Your email address is used only to send Reluctant Nomad dispatches and closely related updates. The legal basis for this is your consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time by replying “unsubscribe” to an email or contacting the address below.
Comment information is used to moderate and publish conversations connected to posts. Comments are reviewed before they appear publicly.
Who helps process it
The website, passenger list and comment database are hosted using OpenAI and Cloudflare services. Passenger emails are prepared by the site and sent using blind carbon copy so recipients cannot see one another’s addresses. Personal information is not sold.
How long it is kept
Your subscriber information is kept while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, a limited suppression record may be retained so that you are not emailed again by mistake.
Comments are kept while they remain relevant to the post and may be hidden or deleted during moderation. You can ask for your information to be deleted where the law allows.
Your choices and rights
You may ask for a copy of your personal information, request a correction or deletion, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw consent. Email admin@reluctantnomad.co.uk to make a request.
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

This page will be updated if the way the site handles personal information changes.
