I know where I am going and why. The useful details are waiting for a rota.

RoleAwaiting rota

The destination is fixed.
The job is not.

I am heading to Kendal Mountain Festival as a volunteer. I expect to arrive shortly before 18 November and leave shortly after 23 November, although the exact edges of the trip are still deliberately soft.

I do not yet know what I will be doing. That should become clearer when the volunteer rota arrives. Until then, this is a journey with a place, a purpose and a useful gap where the plan will eventually go.

Once the rota is known, I can work out the practical things: when to travel, where the van fits into the week and how much time remains for films, talks, people and the hills around Kendal.

Sometimes the role arrives after the reason for going.
